The light novel series A Wild Last Boss Appeared! was first published on Shosetsuka ni Naro from October 2015 to April 2019. Earth Star Entertainment released 9 printed volumes between February 2016 and April 2019. Written by Firehead and illustrated by YahaKo, the series quickly became a fan favorite.

For the anime adaptation, Yuya Horiuchi directs at studio WAO World. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handles series composition, Maiko Ebisawa provides character designs, and TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND composes the music.

J-Novel Club publishes the English edition of the series and summarizes the story:

The latest trailer introduces fans to Soarina, a mysterious character dubbed the “Saint of Flower Funeral,” who will be voiced by Akira Sekine, known for her role as Lilisa in Rock is a Lady’s Modesty. Sinopsis Cerita

Dari Web Novel ke Anime

Akuyaku Reijo no Naka no Hito, atau versi Inggrisnya The One Within the Villainess, bermula dari web novel di platform Shosetsuka ni Naro yang ditulis oleh Makiburo sejak Mei 2020. Kemudian, penerbit Ichijinsha mulai merilisnya dalam format fisik pada Februari 2021.

Adaptasi manga yang digarap oleh Nazuna Shiraumi berjalan di majalah Comic Lake dari November 2021 hingga Mei 2025. Volume keenamnya dijadwalkan rilis pada 25 Juni mendatang. Total penjualan serial ini dilaporkan telah menembus dua juta kopi—angka impresif yang membuat adaptasi anime menjadi langkah alami.
